47712, outward leg of The East Anglian Push-Pull, 07.52 Crewe-Norwich (1Z23, RT), Wing SK896034
Evoking an era when the nationalised railways were at their
best! Sectorisation brought about ScotRail under the leadership of Chris Green (of the best BR chairman it never had fame) and propelled the railways of Scotland forward. One of their creations was the push-pull rakes of Mark 3 stock with a DBSO and a dedicated 'long range' Class 47 running fast between Glasgow and Edinburgh that all carried the smart livery as seen here. 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' passing near the village of Wing in Rutland propelling the outward leg of The East Anglian Push-Pull charter from Crewe to Norwich.
