86259, outward leg of The Cumbrian Mountain Express 2, 07.06 London Euston-Carlisle (1Z86), Whilton Locks SP619640
A side-on view of the outward leg of The Cumbrian
Mountain Express passing along the top of a lofty embankment between Weedon and Whilton in Northamptonshire led by veteran AL6 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan'. I chose this interesting view in part due to the third-quarter phased moon above the locomotive. Leaving London Euston at 07.06 and running as 1Z86 it arrived on-time into Preston and 10.16 where 60009 'Union of South Africa' took over for the rest of the outward leg to Carlisle with a legendary accent of Shap.
