St Philip's Marsh from Highgrove Street
St Philip's Marsh from Highgrove Street
A photograph that clearly illustrates the urban dereliction that afflicted Bristol, and many other UK cities during this era for that matter. It is a view looking down Highgrove Street in Totterdown with just three houses remaining. Using Google Street View reveals that this street still exists complete with the cobbled gutters but the only building standing to identify it is the rectangular building directly behind the line of period cars with the no entry sign in front of it. Of railway interest is the St. Philips Marsh depot to the left of and behind the three houses and a number of DMUs stabled directly above the illuminated street lamp.
