Signalling, Ely South Quite how Graham and I got access to the vast south yard at Ely I am not sure, I believe that we just walked down the edge of the sidings in the early evening light and took our photographs! In this view, looking northeast, the station is seen in the distance with the 17.30 Ely to Cambridge DMU waiting to leave worked by what looks like a Class 105 Cravens unit. To its right, the flat end of 08083 is seen going about its business. The scene is dominated by a marvellous collection of semaphores that would be controlled by Ely Dock Junction which would be to my right shoulder in this view.
