Graham and I were invited into March South Junction signal

box by the signalman on duty on this balmy Sunday afternoon. The LNER box that was opened in 1927 with a fifty-one lever frame that looks as though it is largely intact as seen in this photograph. In the best traditions of mechanical signalling, the handles of the levers and the brass-work of the indicators are kept spotless and polished within an inch of their lives! The box is still in use today at the time of writing in 2023 with no planned date for its closure as yet but, good luck with an invite inside!
