Apart from the Detic, the real star of the show at Scarborough station was one-hundred-year-old Harry Wilson. Here he waves his cap to the gathered masses recording the occasion like myself. He was a top link driver first with steam and then with Deltics on the ECML until retirement. Retiring to and still living in York he always stated that 55013 'The Black Watch' was his favoured member of the famous twenty-two. As well as carrying a headboard in his name 55009 'Alycidon' was renumbered 55013 and named 'The Black Watch' for the day leading the outward and return Deltic Coronation charter from King's Cross to Scarborough where this photograph was captured.
