Ancaster signal box (GN, c.1873)
Ancaster signal box is a delightful Great Northern structure dating from around 1873 according to the Signalling Records Society. Unlike the next box to the east at Rauceby Ancaster has far more ornate bargeboarding and is of smaller proportions. For the present time, Network Rail has no plans to abolish the box and its mechanical signalling but this could change at any time so capture your images whilst you can!
