66555 is seen at speed passing through Spalding station leading the 4L85 Tinsley Intermodal (located in the old Tinsley Yard) to Felixstowe service. The train is about to head south-west to Peterborough and then after toying with the ECML for a short distance head east again towards March. This substantial dogleg could have been avoided if BR had not closed the direct GN & GE Joint line from here to March back in 1982. Had intermodal rail been at the levels it is today I suspect that the route would have been modernised and still open today.
