To the left the former Great Eastern signal box dating from 1882 is seen undergoing a full restoration. The former station building that was closed on 11.09.61 is now converted into a private residence and a business. The old station waiting shelter on the up platform had been extended and turned into a dog grooming business. The new picket fence to the centre on Stonegate marks the spot of the level crossing.
