Postland station (Closed 11.09.61)
The rear of the former Postland station is seen located where the B1166 road crosses the former GN & GE Joint line between March and Spalding. The station closed, along with all others on the line apart from the already shut Murrow West on 11.09.61. The loss of local passenger services on the route was another advanced nail in its coffin with all through services, passenger and freight, withdrawn in 1982 when the line was finally shut. A relatively short stretch of line linking March and Spalding that today would have been an excellent freight route taking traffic off the busy ECML but hindsight is a marvellous thing!
