Whittlesea signal box (GE, 1887) Whittlesey (or Whittlsea) depending on where you come from is a large village southwest of Peterborough. As well as a small station with offset platforms it boasts this large Great Eastern Type 7 box that opened in 1887. It is of a plain and simple design and certainly not as stylish as by way of an example of the nearby St. James Deeping box seen a little earlier.
