St. James Deeping signal box (GN, 1876) St. James Deeping signal box was a Great Northern structure dating from 1876 that stood on the Lincolnshire Loop Line just near to the station of the same name. It is a fine example of a GN box with a large overhanging roof and ornate barge boarding. An unusual feature was also the opening sash Windows to the locking room which is not commonly seen on other boxes of this type. The box shut in 2014 but there are ambitious plans to dismantle it brick by brick and rebuild it on an adjacent piece of land to be used as a local hub.
