Our return tickets from London to Northampton unlike the outward

ones were checked just once on arrival back at Northampton. Travelling ticket checks appear to have become very rare on London Northwestern southwards towards London; I cannot remember the last time one took place. However, with many trains now full and standing, as both our outward and return trains were, it is tricky for the guard to move around their train.
