Coaling the fire, No. 4, 12.00 Pitsford return On a warm and late springtime day the footplate of a small steam locomotive is a hot place to be! The fireman of Peckett 0-4- No. 4 (2104) shovels another load of coal into the firebox as it hauls the 12.00 Pitsford return service. This photograph also gives a bit of an idea as to how compact the footplate is what with the driver (to my right), the fireman and me all competing for our little bit of space.
