Andy & Mike, reading signage Throughout the length of the Nickey Line Walk there was plenty of clear signage and lots of information about the route. As we take a pause on our walk Mike and Andy take in further information. It is alleged that the name Nickey is a derivation of Lickey (as in the incline) due to the steep, varying and sharp gradients on the route between Harpenden and Hemel Hempstead; something we can certainly vouch for on our walk!
