The view is taken from an overbridge that leads down to the holiday village of Talacre and shows 47487 heading east with the 09.10 Holyhead to Manchester Victoria service. How warming to see a seven-coach locomotive hauled train working this 1J16 service that today would be operated by some two or three-car DMU; how things have changed! Notice the concrete platforms of the closed Talacre station that was shut in 1966 along with a number of others along this route. The platforms are still in place today but no holiday trains carrying passengers to the nearby vast Talacre Beach Resort holiday park will call again anytime soon!
