Whilst making our way back from Euston on the rather slow stopper service to Northampton I had been tracking the progress of the 4M57 12.18 London Gateway to Hams Hall service behind us. On arrival, I left my wife at the station whilst I walked the shortish distance to collect the van and within a minute of positioning myself on Northampton's St. James' Road bridge 66767 'King's Cross PSB 1971-1921' appeared slowly around the corner. As can be seen, by the lighting, the sun has begun to set and I really had to ramp up the iso on the camera even to use the relatively slow 1/800th second shutter speed. 66767 appears to have recently been involved in hauling some sort of stone train given the heavy coat of white dust on its bogies and underframe.
