I have been able to glean very little information about

Croes Newydd East signal box that is seen here basking in the afternoon summer sunshine. I am not even sure where it was located so would appreciate it if anybody could furnish me with any further information. It is a later and simpler GWR design with its gabled roof rather than the more common hipped design. It was switched out hence our bold trackside photograph that will have involved some sort of illicit access! Incidentally, notice that the nameplate on the box spells Croes Newydd as two words where as all the other boxes spell it as one!
