 800009 'Sir Gareth Edwards/John Charles' makes a fine sight in some superb autumn weather as it approaches Swindon at South Marston working the 11.48 Paddington to Swansea service. I have to question if a five-car EMU is acceptable for a long-distance express service such as the 1B13. These units replaced HSTs with much greater capacity that themselves replaced locomotive-hauled trains of up to twelve coaches.
