Regular readers of my website know my feelings on the

graffiti that blights the railways and other parts of our society for that matter; however, I am mindful to make an exception in this case! The quality of the mural highlights the area's railway heritage. I am actually standing on land that would once have been inside the perimeter of the works in the Redbourne area of Swindon. Whenever I return to Swindon I always reflect on the fact that I almost settled in the town back in 1987 as I worked locally but secured better-paid employment in Northamptonshire and the rest they say is history.
