A fine example of Scammell Scarab tractor and trailer inside Swindon's Steam museum. Thousands of these versatile three-wheeler units were built between 1948 and 1967 with the railways being the recipients of many including, as is the case here, the GWR. However, this example is not quite authentic as this particular model was not introduced until post-nationalisation with the GWR operating Scammell Mechanical Horses that were a considerably older design.
