Having arrived back in Northampton I turned my camera around to capture the rear of our train as it rests for some ten minutes prior to departing for Birmingham New Street. My wife and I travelled on the 12.49 from Euston finding it extremely busy, to begin with at least, however many passengers alighted at Watford Junction where we stopped on the down fast platform. The train manager also made a clear announcement just prior to this stop that Oyster validity finished at Watford. Notice that we had the luxury of travelling in one of the small subset of ex TPE 350/4s. These offer a much more pleasant ambience and roomy travelling experience than the rather tired and battle worn 350/1,2 and 3s.
