At last in some evening sunshine at this location between Roade and Ashton 90001 'Royal Scot' passes heading north on the down fast line leading LSL's 17.42 Euston to Manchester 'charter'. I put the word charter in inverted commas as it is for all intents and purposes a service train with anybody welcome to turn up, board it and pay the £75 first-class flat fare for a journey in some very comfortable and roomy Mk. III coaches. As LSL has now extended the services until the beginning of December and with the possibility of a Monday service being introduced it is obviously going down well with the travelling public and the enthusiast alike!
