Unusually the 13.23 Wembley Yard to East Usk Yard empty
stone working was pathed on the down fast line through Didcot and beyond. 66616 was working well hauling the 6V18 keeping up to its permitted speed and was about to pass the looped 6B11 (also heading for East Usk Yard) to the west of the station. I did not follow the progress of 6V18 so I am not sure how long it remained on the fast line but hopefully for fare-paying passengers not for enough time to hold up GWR IETs breathing down its tail light!
