I was very surprised at how quiet Chester station was in the twenty minutes or so that I was there between 07.40 and 08.00. I still am firmly of the opinion that the 'COVID effect' is still having a massive impact on how the railways are operating with the leisure times (off-peak) being a lot busier than they used to be replacing the old peak-time period.
