 Following yet another successful Cumbrian Mountain Express the previous day (see..... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30027054862/x86259-cumbrian-mountain-express) 86259 'Les Ross (on this side)/Peter Pan' runs light engine on the down fast line between Roade and Ashton in south Northamptonshire. It was returning from Acton Lane in west London where the coaching stock is kept and maintained to Rugby carriage sidings. This side-on view shows the extra set of suspension springs fitted to the AL6s soon after their introduction in the 1960s to counteract poor riding characteristics.
