Potton station (closed 01.01.68)
From this viewpoint on Potton's, rather unsurprisingly named, Station Road the old station is seen still in use as a private residence. As well as the 1857 structure there are the remains of the two platforms as well as other railway furniture. The line on which the station is located was known as the Varsity line linking Cambridge with Oxford and is off course much favoured for reopening but progress so far on the western end between Bicester and the WCML at Bletchley is painfully slow!
