170619, XC 18.18 Leicester-Birmingham New Street (1P26, 4L), Nuneaton station Having completed the final leg of our East Midlands Day Ranger in the almost darkness at Nuneaton I turned my camera towards the train and using its night photography settings I captured 170619 waiting to depart with the 18.18 Leicester to Birmingham New Street service. Due to some sort of engineering works between Syston and Peterborough many CrossCountry services on this route were terminating and starting from Leicester (such as this one) with a long and no doubt unpleasant bus journey for passengers east of there. I have to say that this was not well advertised and had quite an effect on our plans earlier in the day.
