Having worked in from Oxford a little earlier no time was wasted, once the inbound stock was removed, to get 50044 'Exeter' away from the buffers and reversed back on to the stock of the 1K68. This train was often dubbed the 'Westbury Express' due to its tight timings and its stopping pattern. It was a heavily used commuter service that became popular with enthusiasts as well as the normals up to its demise in the mid-1990s.
