This photograph does not reveal the situation at Weybourne station

on this damp October morning but 7F 53809 was struggling to get the 10.00 Sheringham to Holt service underway. Whether it was driver inexperience (he did look particularly young!) or a combination of other factors but the locomotive was really struggling for traction. It was making extremely slow and laboured progress with the lightest opening of the regulator causing a dramatic wheel slip. This situation continued until the train had passed and was well out of sight on the climb of Kelling bank.
