The floor of the former booking office of Roade station is still extant some fifty years after it closed. The two parallel lines show where the internal walls were located with their accompanying supports for the door canopy. A contemporary image can be seen at https://www.flickr.com/photos/trevor-plackett/6761678509 which puts my photograph into context. The building was a modern replacement for the original timber structure that was destroyed by fire in the 1950s.
