Urlay Nook crossing is controlled by the doomed 1896 (est.) signal box that should have been closed and demolished by now and the boom gates replaced by automatic barriers. However, due to sighting and safety issues caused by the angle of the approaching roads to the crossing this has been delayed and a re-think is now being undertaken.
