Dent station Some summer sunshine brightens the scene at Dent station. Andy is seen taking a photograph of the large wooden sign just out of shot proclaiming that the station is the highest in England at one thousand one hundred and fifty feet. The station reopened back in 1986 along with many others on this dramatic and scenic line mainly for tourists as, in this case, the station is somewhat divorced from any settlement. The station building has been used for holiday accommodation that unfortunately, my wife seemed singularly uninterested in renting out for a week when I told her all about it; I can't understand why?
