Lichfield TV Junction signal box (LNWR, 1897) The impressive former L&NWR signal box basks in the hot summer sunshine just near to Lichfield station. The box was built in 1897 on the line between Wichnor Junction and Birmingham via Sutton Coldfield. Passenger services now terminate a short distance to my right at the Lichfield high-Level station that straddles the WCML below it. The line beyond the station past where I am standing is freight only but sees fairly light traffic. There is also a short, steep and tight spur on to the WCML in the northerly direction.
