One of the main purposes of my trip to the Lichfield area was to get a photograph or two of Fosseway signal box. The box is located on the former North Staffordshire line that once linked Lichfield with Birmingham, a line that appears to be gathering momentum aimed towards its reinstatement. The LNWR Type 3 signal box was constructed in 1875. I do not want to enter into the debate as to the correct spelling of the box's name so I am going with the local farm's spelling of Fosseway with the middle 'e'.
