A classic and timeless scene just north of King's Sutton in Northamptonshire - but only just! To the right of the photograph across the meadow is the River Cherwell along which follows the county boundary with Oxfordshire. In fact, this stretch of line that runs from Souldern for about six miles to a spot just north of where I am standing is the only point that the original GWR constructed its own railway in the county of Northamptonshire. 221135 and 220119 pass this bucolic scene with the 1M22 06.17 Southampton to Manchester service.
