Consecutively numbered Voyagers 221103 and 221103 stand in the gloom at Birmingham New Street waiting to work the 18.30 departure to Euston. Andy and I took this Avanti West Coast service as far as Rugby making it the penultimate journey of our tour of the West Midlands. Whilst a trip on a Voyager brings its customary noise and vibration, made worse according to where one chooses a seat Andy did comment on how fast it felt particularly when accelerating. The quality of the onboard announcements was the best of the day with succinct and accurate information made at the appropriate times with no mention of the dreaded 'station stops' or the infuriatingly tautological 'final destination'!
