Unfortunately, due to signalling issues near Watford, all northbound trains were heavily delayed with ours arriving nearly twenty minutes adrift; not a great start. I have to say that the guard did keep passengers well informed and apologised for the inevitable inconvenience caused! Due to our late arrival at Stafford, my train planning had to be adjusted a little due to us missing our southbound service.
