This is a Class 47 that has refused to die

but looking at it very faded British Railway's green paintwork is it under threat again? Built as D1645 it became 47061 under TOPS to be renumbered 47649 early in 1986. Three years later it became 47830 being stopped at Garston in January 2008 for not being OTMR equipped. It was subsequently stored as 'okay' at Crewe where it languished for some seven years. It was named 'Beeching`s Legacy' in a ceremony at the NRM in November 2015. It is seen passing through Rugby southbound as the 0Z39 08.15 Crewe to Wembley light engine move.
