A wide-angle view from the oddly named Cukoo bridge near Stainforth sees 158789 approaching working the 13.53 Hull to Doncaster Northern service. Between the bridge abutment and the hawthorn (crataegus monogyna) is the vast area of heavily rutted and puddle filled flat land that was previously occupied by railway sidings in connection with the removal of coal from the site by rail. I am not as to why some vandal has painted out the bridge identification plate with black paint?
