The photograph is taken from the western side of the new bridge embankment that was opened in 2014 following the closure of the nearby level crossing. Notice the steam being emitted from Drax power station in the background. Of South Yorkshire's 'big three' Drax was the largest having a capacity of 3960 MW burning a combination of biomass and petcoke (petroleum coke) delivered by rail. The other two power stations, Ferrybridge and Eggborough, have both been closed with the former in the process of being cleared.
