The vintage DEMU was running as 1Z07 (hence the headcode numerics) leaving Crewe at 17.16 to return to its home base at Hastings. Rather oddly when this photograph was taken there appeared to be an issue with its horn with it blowing softly and almost continually making for a very odd soundtrack as it passed through the depths of the cutting!
