Work in preparation for new bridge construction in connection with MML electrification, The Slips, Harrowden Junction Contractors have commenced their work at Harrowden Junction in preparation for the electrification of the line. Also, firstly the second relief line will be reinstated extending quadruple running from Sharnbrook Junction all the way through Kettering to Glendon Junction. Just out of frame to the right is the original brick arched bridge much favoured by railway photographers that is to demolished and no doubt replaced by one of Network Rail's favoured concrete monstrosities with huge green parapets! It was one of the contractors undertaking the strimming in this image who took offence to my taking of photographs such that I was rather aggressively challenged about my presence.
