Two versions of the same operators grey livery one slightly older than the other. In the foreground is the metallic grey/blue livery as applied by the highly unpopular National Express East Coast after it took over from GNER in December 2007. It is being carried by HST power car 43320. This power car, as 43120 along with 43121, were designated as 'spares' when delivered to the Eastern Region in November 1977 with neither assigned to a 254 set. In the background, wearing East Coast's proper 'grey' livery, is DVT 82224. Whilst the HST will leave York leading the 16.01 service to King's Cross the DVT will leave first with the 13.30 Edingburgh to King's Cross.
