At £90 the return fare from Wellingborough to York was

pretty good value at £45 each way for all three of us. Of all three journey options that we had (from Northampton, Peterborough or Wellingborough) the was the cheapest by a fair margin and the second quickest with the straightforward dash up the ECML being by far the fastest. However, that journey would have involved an hour's drive to Peterborough and then parking that somewhat defeats the objective of 'letting the train take the strain'!
