Built in 1962 at Eastleigh Works as E6001 this electro-diesel

(ED) worked throughout its life on the Southern Region eventually withdrawn in May 2000. As the pioneer member of the class it was preserved and now does the rounds of the galas looking superb in its BR blue livery. Hauling a very non-authentic rake of continental stock it approaches Ailsworth crossing working the 13.12 Yarwell Junction to Peterborough Nene Valley.
