A fine example of one of Clacton's 'searchlight' starter brackets that certainly look as if they have suffered from the ravages of the sea air! This unique signalling was installed in 1958 when the lines to the Essex coast were electrified. They are controlled by a mechanical/electro-mechanical lever frame with parts dating from 1891. There are plans to resignal the station and the line afoot but this is not scheduled to happen until 2020 so this vintage and unique signalling can be enjoyed for a few years yet.
