The attractive station building at Frinton-on-Sea was constructed in 1888 to a design similar to several others in Essex featuring the large central gable. However, the twin circular windows (with only one in view in this image) are unique to Frinton. The Frinton & Walton Heritage Trust do a lot of work in the area and maintain the station and its environs to a high standard. This includes the installation of the level crossing gates that were previously located on Frinton's level crossing just to the east of the station. They were replaced by automated barriers just five years ago in 2009.
