New station taking shape & old station, from ground floor level, Northampton station
Whilst construction of the new station at Northampton continues, the old one is very much still in use. Passengers now access the station down this narrow path that does get very congested at peak times. Over recent years the 1966 built station, designed by Ray Moorcroft described as 'three cowsheds bolted together' by Will Adams in his 2012 publication British Railways Past and Present book, has proved hopelessly inadequate hence yet another re-build!
