Whilst the other side of Northampton's new station is clad

with various coloured panels the side that faces the car park is almost completely glazed from top to bottom. It will afford lots of natural light to stream into the station with the main concourse being at first-floor level. In this view, the first of the vast double glazed panels have been applied to the framework. I suspect that this side of the station will age better to the eye than the clad sides with their brightly coloured panels that will go out of fashion more quickly than plain glass.
